Design thinking is at the heart of our Design Tech program. Guided by the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Standards, our hands-on program helps students build confidence as coders, builders, designers, and problem-solvers. Using the LAUNCH Cycle, students ask questions, investigate problems, develop ideas, create prototypes, and improve their work before sharing it with others. Across four interconnected pathways—Engineering & Fabrication, Robotics & Physical Computing, Digital Media & Communication, and Computational Thinking & Applied Computing—students build with a variety of materials, program robots and games, and explore tools such as 3D modeling, Kodable, Book Creator, and Lego Robotics. We value the process as much as the final product, helping students see mistakes as useful information. As they progress through the grades, students gain greater independence while learning to test, reflect, refine, and create thoughtful solutions.
